The Office comprises the Office of the Ombudsman, the Office of the Information Commissioner, the Office of the Commissioner for Environmental Information, the secretariats to the Standards in Public Office Commission and for the Referendum Commissions (as and when established) and the Commission for Public Service Appointments. The different Offices carry out separate and distinct statutory functions. The Director General will report to the Ombudsman and Information. Commissioner. S/he will have a leading role in the administration and. development of the Office and will be the Accounting Officer of the organisation. S/he will have responsibility for the day to day management of the organisation. and will assist and advise the Ombudsman and Information Commissioner in. setting out and implementing the strategic policy direction for the organisation. The successful candidate will have: • Significant senior level experience and a strong track record in providing. leadership and vision in a complex organisation in either the public or private sector; • Well-developed management and organisational skills with the ability to develop teams and manage staff; • Proven ability to formulate and implement strategy, preferably in a developing independent organisation; • The ability to analyse and evaluate large amounts of complex legal and. technical information. This is a Top Level Appointments Committee (TLAC) position.
