Commercial Accountant. Job Description. We are recruiting a Commercial Accountant to join our Finance team in Dublin on a permanent basis. We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo's mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. Primary Accountabilities: The purpose of this role is to work closely with the Commercial Finance Manager and FP&A Manager for PepsiCo Ireland Food and Beverages, the Commercial Accountant will help deliver the Financial/Management Reporting and commercial Business Partnering requirements for the business. This is a broad role which will provide the right candidate with invaluable experience covering the primary aspects of finance in a leading global FMCG business. They will achieve this through: Financial Reporting Supporting the period end process including analysing and posting period journals; Preparing period end P&L reports; Providing commentary on the main drivers of the P&L and communicating key variances; Support in delivering the regional and sector reporting requirement; Timely & accurate preparation and distribution of key commercial reports for the ROI Snacks, Juice and Cereals Business Units and preparing others as required; Business Partnering Support commercial sales team in understanding drags & drivers of account performance through supporting variance models & insightful analysis. Working with the sales team to review and evaluate effectiveness of promotional activities. Support the sales team and AR in managing potential bad debt/deduction issues; Control & Governance. Support development of and adherence to PepsiCo internal Global Control Standards (GCS) on customer pricing, promotional discounts and customer LTA through: Management and maintenance of the pricing approval process and customer price files; Governing the promo discounts process - set up, tracking and payment reviews; Maintaining Customer LTA trackers (accrual & payments); Preparing balance sheet reconciliations for review; Point of contact for various internal & external Audit processes e.g. annual statutory audit; Responsibility for supporting Accounts Payable process for the Ireland business; BIS Attain super user status on Cognos sales and margin analysis system (training provided. Train new users on various aspects of reporting, analysis and data entry. Ownership of data management and reporting processes for Cognos. This role has reporting and lateral relationships across multiple constituents: Report to the Ireland Commercial Finance Manager. Business partner to the Ireland Commercial Sales Team. Key lateral relationships with the Commercial Finance & Functional heads. Regular interaction with sector control, reporting & planning teams. Interaction with 3rd party back office support functions. Qualifications/Requirements. Essential Skills: Working towards or recently qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA. Experienced accounting background. Energetic, results driven, team player, strong analytical skills. Effective & persuasive communication skills. Strong Excel ability and strong aptitude for financial software applications. Desired Skills. Strong commercial awareness desired. Previous experience within an FMCG business desired. Previous experience working collaboratively with non-finance personnel desired. Previous experience of period end close process desired.
