Automation & Controls Technical Support Engineer (Cork. Specialising in the design and build of highly automated manufacturing equipment this mutlinational organisation offers the opportunity to drive developments in manufacturing and control technologies. Reporting to the International Project Group Manager, you will work with a team of talented international professionals in a dynamic, challenging and fast paced environment where customer focus is essential, a non-hierarchical approach is the norm. Your primary role will be to provide business support across the organization, developing and maintaining customer relationships and promoting services to maximise all opportunities. Key Responsibilities; - Support senior business development managers in targeting, acquisition and relationship development with international accounts. - Work with our customers at senior management level to build an understanding of their compliance and safety needs, gather technical requirements and determine the optimum approach for our customers. - Liaise with other team members across our international network to ensure strong development of customer relationships, successful project delivery and high quality of service. - Provide pre-sales and post-sales support to priority international accounts. - Prepare detailed commercial and technical proposals for services projects for our international customers. - Prepare customer and sector specific services sales support material for our international workforce such as case studies, sales presentations, etc. - Participate in the preparation and delivery of international business development events, to foster collaboration between our international workforce securing a synchronization of our sales approach. - Providing feedback to our service development team on developing new tailored services or improving existing ones, as well as, monitoring competitor’s activity, market developments and generating the necessary reports. The Person; - The successful candidate will have a experience of the manufacturing sector and understand services relations and processes in an industrial engineering context. - The ideal candidate may already be in a similar role as an internal sales engineer, technical support engineer, an electrical engineer looking to move into a commercial environment with the ability to illustrate good customer and administrative skills. Essential Skills/Experience; - Background in an engineering or technician role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment. - Relevant degree in engineering preferably in electrical, automation, mechatronics or mechanical. - A good understanding of the commercial process from meeting the customer, analysing their needs, creating a quotation and winning the project. - Self-organised, energetic and take a logical and systematic approach to problem solving. - The ability to prioritise the urgency of multiple requests and then take charge of these to meet deadlines.
