Temp Data Centre Assistant (Remote. Location: Based in Dublin - multiple locations north and south, vehicle provided. Salary: €13+ per hour (paid weekly. 35 hour week - Monday to Friday. Full licence essential. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ROLE REQUIRES STRICT & INDEPTH SECURITY SCREENING (see below. Responsibilities: Mount backup media to schedule and SLAs / on request. Adhere to our client's procedures and processes. Ensure all media movements are recorded in the appropriate logs and databases in order to maintain audit compliancy. Respond to requests to initialise/destroy/re-label media. Completes adhoc activities at Manager’s/Team Leader’s/Supervisor’s request. Maintain site media stock levels / perform stock checks. Monitor media storage environmental controls. Perform media offsite processes. Receive and despatch media as per schedule or on request. Maintain auditable transmittal logs. Perform Hands and Eyes support after taking instruction from support groups including: Physical reboots of device. Checking for hardware failure lights. Checking for console error messages. Assist in resolution of physical network faults and hardware problems. Place tape or CD media into device to precede a recovery of a server. General. Complete tasks to specified standards. Use of Lotus Notes for email and procedural work practise. Responds to problems quickly and efficiently using approved procedures or guidance. Respond to any ad-hoc, low level skill task which is scripted/documented/in writing, whilst on the telephone to the person in the team who is assisting. Alerts the Manager to actual/potential Service problems. Completes ad hoc activities at Manager’s request. Conforms to department and procedures and current SLAs/DOUs. Refers to the Manager for procedural guidance. Refers to the Manager for service/environmental standards. Any other duties reasonably requested by the Company. Monitor customer environment and report discrepancies. Escalate critical issues to Manager. Skills and Requirements: PC Literate (enthusiastic towards IT. Confident within an IT and customer environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Word / Lotus Notes desirable. MUST have a driving licence. Personal Characteristics Required. Flexible and responsive to business demands, Able to work unsupervised for long periods and be able to use own initiative. Keen to learn and develop the service. Alert and responsive to change. Able to communicate with all interfaces. Personable, good team player, enthusiastic, able to use own initiative. Customer focused. Able to follow process/procedures in a methodical manner. Able to be responsible for company vehicle and maintain vehicle logs. Job holder must pass stringent security checks as required by client.
