I am assisting my client find a Buyer/Warehouse Manager to join their team in Limerick. My client is a well-known and highly respected industrial plant in Limerick. To provide a procurement service to the plant through the timely and expeditious purchase of goods and services on a value-for-money basis in accordance with best purchasing practices and existing commercial procedures. Play a lead role in the movement and control of materials and equipment off-site (excluding product shipped from the companies jetty) through the process of the on-line Shipping Notice facility. Purchasing goods and services consistent with internal customers stated requirements in Committing expenditure for the supply of goods and services in accordance with internal commercial procedures conformance with both safety and engineering codes and standards. Ensuring that 'value for money' is the guiding principle on all purchases. Monitoring the performance of suppliers by reference to both the computerised system and on the ground knowledge and to initiate the appropriate corrective actions as required. To initiate and conduct supplier audits, where required in conjunction with internal technical and engineering personnel. To control and report on Bulk Material Receipts including weighbridge activities. Responsibility for movement of waste off-site (Hazardous and Non-Hazardous) including correct disposal and certification as well as scrap material sales. To ensure safe packing and crating of external shipments. Management of dedicated local courier. Trouble Shooting Maintenance and repair issues in the Warehouse. Responsibility for Corporate Purchasing Card policy, procedures and reporting. Provide cover for the Inventory Controller during times of absences. Monthly Reporting of Hydrate Trucking. Qualifications and Experience. At least 5 years work experience in a busy engineering oriented purchasing role with relevant experience in procurement of high value engineering goods and services. Purchasing policies and procedures. Purchase requisition and ordering system. Good knowledge of transport/freight logistics. Good working knowledge of inventory control practices.
