Deputy Picture Editor. The Irish Times is inviting applications for the position of Deputy Picture Editor to work in its newsroom, as part of the Visual Media team. Working closely with the Picture Editor, the successful candidate will assist in commissioning and selecting photographs from multiple sources for use in The Irish Times in print and on irishtimes.com. S/he will have experience in exercising editorial judgment and working in a demanding, high pressure environment. S/he will assist in the efficient allocation of staff resources to meet the demands of both the newsroom and other departments in The Irish Times. The Deputy Picture Editor will have a track record in producing high quality photography for use in digital and print. An important element of the role will be to assist with ensuring that there is closer collaboration between videographers and photographers and participate in initiatives to improve or develop overall output. The successful candidate will deputise for the Picture Editor as required and will be expected to help lead in introducing new ways to engage with our readers and subscribers.
