Grade Iii Placement Administrator
Unijobs on behalf of Dublin City University currently have a requirement for a temporary Grade III School Placement Administrator. The successful candidate will be based in the Dublin City University Institute of Education in Drumcondra in Dublin for a four-month period. The primary responsibility of the post holder is to provide administrative support to post-primary education school placement element. The post holder will report to the Assistant Faculty Manager or nominee, with day to day task allocation and direction provided by the post-primary Placement Coordinator. Duties and responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering administrative tasks related to Post-primary Education placements. This includes liaising with schools, handling student and staff queries, data entry to the placement allocations management system and document generation. Act as the first point of contact for placement settings, students, tutors and external examiners in relation to placement: Log and appropriately and effectively address routine student queries in relation to their placements, timetabling and other relevant activities; Log and appropriately and effectively address placement queries from relevant staff and placement settings. Student Service: address student queries, issues communications and placement-related materials; brief Student/Reception Desk Administrator on placement activity. Advise academic staff on administrative processes and communicate any queries or issues as appropriate; Placement Administration Maintain placement records; data entry and collation. Assist with recruitment and allocation of placement tutors, including raising staff contract requisitions. Assist with meetings, workshops and events including room bookings, catering and travel. Team working: work collaboratively with school admin and Student/Reception Desk admin to ensure all institute activities are appropriately supported during leave periods or periods of high activity; cover the Student/Reception Desk during break periods. Participate in any relevant training and quality review processes. Any other duty which may be assigned from time to time by their line manager. Experience, Skills and Qualifications: Candidates must hold a leaving certificate or equivalent, a recognised secretarial course or equivalent and three years relevant experience, preferably in a third level environment. Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
