Description

Technical Services Director Dublin. You will provide technical and engineering support to ensure that product of optimum quality and cost are produced to schedule. The development of technical systems on site is a key objective so that the company can continuously improve its business performance. You will be responsible for Maintenance; Validation; Automation; Process Engineering; Project Engineering, Utilities and Facilities. You will become a key driver in implementing engineering processes and deliverables to the site in alignment with local goals and objectives and global strategy. Primary Tasks: Lead the design, development and delivery of the Technical Services strategy, goals and objectives for Dublin site, aligned with local and global goals. Prepare, monitor and appropriately adjust the annual budget for Technical Services department. Prepare an ambitious automation strategy for the site and implement related action plans in a timely fashion. Put in place the most appropriate and cost-effective maintenance structure to support manufacturing operations. Participate in validation activity, including reviewing and signing protocols and reports. Ensure that resources are sufficient to meet validation requirements or escalate gap for resolution. Ensure Engineering and Facilities teams initiate and complete investigation, deviations, CAPAs, and Change Controls as assigned. Act as a business partner to the other members of the Senior Leadership Team and share responsibility for the delivery of the site goals and targets. Ensure that necessary human and technical resources are in place to provide an efficient and effective engineering and maintenance service to the business units and other site operations. Ensure that relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied in relation to Technical Services (cGMP, Health & Safety, Environmental) and that detailed procedures, work instructions and guidelines are in place and are kept up to date. Provide leadership to direct reports so that they can deliver their goals and objectives. Promote good industrial relations and assist the business unit managers in resolving any industrial relation issues that may arise. Ensure that HVAC, utilities, process equipment and process automation are appropriately and safely maintained, validated and ready for manufacturing activities. Manage all engineering and facilities work to meet and optimize manufacturing and during plant shutdown schedules, while maintaining a high level of GMP compliance and cost efficiency. Identify and prioritise areas that require capital investment. Assist in the preparation of the justification of capital expenditure and ensure that the company secures value for money in this regard. Participate actively in the CAP Ops forum. Establish a position of technology leadership within the Group. Assist with the diffusion of new technologies throughout the company and ensure that the company does not become dependent on individuals and that it can reap the expected benefits from technology. Work with Global Management to capitalise on international technical resources and promote team work between Group Engineering Departments. Put in place the most appropriate and cost-effective environmental management systems for the site. You will have: A third level qualification Degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering. A Degree (or higher) in management or business studies would also be desirable. A minimum of five years’ experience in a Technical Services Management role in a multi-national manufacturing organisation is essential. Excellent cross- functional and collaborative style and business acumen. In this capacity, you are expected to work closely with the Senior Leadership Team in driving and developing the Engineering function at the Dublin Site. Your Engineering skills and experience are extensive and you know how and when to use the right tools to complete the task at hand. You will most likely have experience of managing a multi-functional engineering team and you will likely have experience of working in a unionised environment. Your communication and stakeholder management skills enable you to build strong relationships in a complex and diversified organisation – and you have the courage it takes to address difficult issues and stand your ground when it is necessary. Ideally you have experience from the Pharma environment and your interpersonal skills enable you to navigate effectively across multiple change agendas on site and in the wider global operations community.
