The Port of Cork Company is a commercial state-owned entity committed to the efficient, safe and cost-effective movement of goods through its various locations in Cork Harbour including Tivoli, Ringaskiddy, Cobh and Bantry. The company currently employs c.150 people at its various facilities. The next three years will see significant change, primarily, the ultimate relocation of major elements of the company's business to Ringaskiddy. Consequently, the board wishes to make the following senior appointment. Head of Human Resources. Reporting into the CEO, you will be part of the strategic senior management team and will provide a clear HR strategy and vision in line with the company's long-term ambition. The Head of Human Resources will provide strong leadership to the Senior Leadership Team and will assume full responsibility for all HR activities such as Recruitment, Compensation and Benefits, Performance Management, Industrial Relations, Change Management, and Organisational Development and will keep abreast of HR best practice and constantly benchmark. The Head of HR will ensure that all elements of the HR function is optimised, underpinned by strong working relationships across all aspects of the business. They will also develop and drive professional HR protocols. Requirements. * A primary degree in a relevant discipline and a CIPD qualification; * A minimum of 8 years Human Resource Management experience, with exposure to a unionised environment; * An ability to work and communicate at all levels of the organisation; * A strong track record of delivering on operational targets and on long term strategic goals; * Detailed knowledge of Irish Employment Law and familiarity with current HR trend and practices.
