As part of our operational excellence strategy, we now wish to recruit an experienced Warehouse Manager . This key role will be based in our Limerick distribution facility. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Warehouse Manager will be a key member of our Team. The role holder will take responsibility for leading the warehouse team to achieve excellence in goods receipt, storage and stock control to meet customer service, quality expectations and business performance goals in our dynamic 24/7 business, 364 days of the year. This is an excellent opportunity for either an established Warehouse Manager looking to develop their career in a progressive environment, or for an ambitious and motivated warehouse professional with the right level of experience who wants their first stand-alone warehouse management role. The successful candidate must have a strong track record of achievement in a fast-moving warehousing / production / logistics related environment and be an excellent people leader. Responsibilities. The specific responsibilities of the role will include: Leading, developing and inspiring a team in support of the company culture of growth and continuous improvement, ensuring a positive and engaged team is committed to delivering market leading excellence for all customers; Supporting and driving a quality-focused culture. Ensure the highest quality of goods procured, received, stored and transferred internally and the quality of finished goods stored, transferred and delivered externally to all customers; Implementing Lean warehouse practices, including live inventory management controls to ensure quality, efficiency, safety, security and optimal space management is always to the fore; Establish, train and monitor staff in SOP’s and best practice to achieve excellence in Warehouse practices and controls. Managing all aspects of health and safety across the warehouse operations; Ensuring consistent best practice on food safety in full compliance with Food Safety /ISO 22000 international HACCP standard; Establishing, promoting and maintaining effective communication channels to all departments through daily/weekly team communication meetings and handovers documents across all shifts. Planning for seasonal / weekly / holiday resource requirement variations to support consistent excellence in customer service together with business efficiency performance; Training, developing and implementing upskilling for team and self; Leading by example: establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behaviour; Deputise for the Operations Manager as and when required. Candidate. The successful candidate will likely display the following attributes: Excellent people leadership and management displaying excellent emotional intelligence and an ability to lead and influence a large team; Excellent commercial rigour and determination to solve problems, delight customers and deliver to tight deadlines and budgets; Innovative, analytical and with a demonstrable track record of implementing positive change and continuous process improvement; Demonstrated robust critical thinking, planning, prioritising and project management capability; Well-rounded administrative, financial and operational skills gained through direct FMCG or Food sector experience; Effective communicator with excellent relationship building/management skills - a positive and effective influencer; Understands processes, logical and a systematic problem solver who will develop and implement new initiatives to improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase performance across the warehouse operations; Highly adaptable and able to prioritise involvement in a varied range of tasks to meet tight deadlines; Can demonstrate a proven history of professional achievement and success. Essential Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of 7 years industry experience in a food distribution or FMCG Supplier environment with recent experience in a Warehouse Management role; Proficient in Microsoft NAV or equivalent ERP system and excellent capability with MS Office, Excel; Appropriate education – Has achieved a level of professional training and development in disciplines relevant to this role such as Warehouse Optimisation Systems, Supply Chain, Lean Operations, Health & Safety, Food Safety, Compliance Standards and other best practices have been attained.
