An exciting opportunity has arisen with our client based in County Waterford for an Operations Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established progressive organisation. The Role. Work with Project Managers and the Foreman on project planning and programming. Analyse, manage and mitigate risks which may affect the budget and timeline of projects. Implement industry standard project management processes for design and manufacture. Ensure raw materials, components and consumables are effectively managed and ordered in good time and long-lead items are identified and ordered early-on in the project. Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve issues as they arise in a timely manner, ensuring structures are in place to prevent problems from recurring. Effectively schedule production in line with delivery dates provided by contracts and retail sales. Delegate tasks to the office and workshop teams and ensure they are equipped to execute them efficiently. Ensure output is of extremely high quality and standards of service are in line with requirements. Liaise regularly with the design team to ensure project requirements and specifications are met. Schedule and manage site deliveries and fittings, ensuring efficiency and quality. Identify training needs and areas of opportunity for all manufacturing and administrative staff. Take overall responsibility for the on-time delivery of projects, according to agreed deadlines. Work with management to identify ways to raise standards, continuously improve the production process and become a top-class manufacturing facility. Work with suppliers to negotiate best rates for materials and consumables. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across the entire business. The Person. Minimum 5 years working as a Project Manager on high value projects for a large general contractor. Quantity Surveyor background desired. Knowledge of the bespoke manufacturing process is a distinct advantage. Ability to effectively delegate work and ensure high levels of efficiency. Driven by targets, strives for the highest quality. Customer focussed. Works well under pressure and takes ownerships of tasks. Highly resourceful.
