Our Cork basedglobal pharmaceutical and chemical client are currently seeking a Supply Chain Planner/Scheduler. The Supply Chain Planner/Scheduler is responsible for translating customer demand to build and purchase plans ensuring that service and inventory metrics are achieved And Ensuring that tactical data and reports required to efficiently run the Planning function are produced in a timely manner and automated where possible. Key Responsibilities. Places Purchase Orders with Suppliers in a timely and efficient manner to optimize inventory management while ensuring there are no production delays due to lack of materials. Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders, and accounts payable invoices and resolve discrepancies, and all supply inquiries and problems. Develop and Maintain strong working relationships with our vendors. Translating Demand forecasts into effective Production Plans and Schedules taking Customer and forecasted requirements as well as Key Capacity constraints into account. Identify potential gaps and agree mitigation with Production and Supply Network Planning. Monitor the flow of materials from raw material to finished goods. Manage raw material risk management programs. Ensure the accuracy of all Cork Planning Data. Prepare key reports and presentations to support the efficient functioning of the Production Planning Department. Report example include but are not limited to: Output Reports, Service Reports and Inventory Reports. Generate “management by exception reports” that focus priorities on pro-active risk mitigation. Develop new knowledge by completing scenario analysis that drive continuous improvement and ultimately help create value for Merck. Requirements: Level 8 Degree in Supply Chain / Business, or related discipline. APICS certified an advantage. Previous manufacturing experience would be an advantage. Previous use of Oracle 11i (or SAP) an advantage. Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects simultaneously. Strong analytical and system skills (incl Advanced Excel) would be essential. Good communication skills would be essential. Customer oriented outlook. A willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
