Electrical and Pump Services Ltd is a global leader in the water industry and due to continuing success have vacancies for Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators to work in the Cork area. Experience within the wastewater industry is an advantage however, this is a multi-disciplined organisation and job role, so all experienced applicants from associated disciplines are welcome. Full training and support will be provided. Roles and Responsibilities; Process monitoring including completing record sheets and taking process samples. Heavy manual work may be required from time to time. The role requires general duties both inside and outside in all weather conditions. The role ranges from process control and monitoring, to basic preventative mechanical maintenance. General housekeeping activities such as: cleaning, washing down plant and grounds maintenance. Treatment process is fully automated and has complicated control system. Proficiency in computers important. Working alone at times. Awareness of the need to follow formal procedures and safe working methods is essential. Flexibility with hours of work is vital for this role. The role includes a scheduled stand-by and call out rota. Skills / Attributes; Have a willingness to learn and be challenged in the water and waste water Industry. Ideally either a mechanical / electrical background, or alternatively a science background an advantage but not essential as full training and support provided. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Some process experience would be ideal. Ability to reading English, along with excellent communication skills. Basic computer skills. Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively on your own or in a team environment. Requirements; The person will live in the locality, the job requires activities on various sites and so a full/clean driving licence is essential.
