We are the helpful energy company. Role Responsibility. Lead Cloud & Infrastructure Architect for Ireland position plays is a key role within Centrica's Strategy & Architecture function. Possessing broad Cloud, Data Centre, Infrastructure & Platforms knowledge with strong focus on enhancement and modernisation of Hosting & Shared Services platforms for group wide consumption. This role will be part of a team of Cloud & Infrastructure Architects, architecting shared, multi-region Hybrid Cloud Hosting platforms supporting Centrica Group's global business, whilst ensuring business requirements are met for local Ireland business. Key Accountabilities. Planning and Architecture Development. * Contribute to the Hosting & Cloud Platforms and Shared Infrastructure Services & capabilities, Architecture vision and roadmap, and an infrastructure technology strategy that delivers robust, resilient and compliant solutions based on Cloud and On Premise hosting platforms across EMEA and Americas geographical regions. * Contribute to the development and management of technical standards and practices which implement the Hybrid Cloud and Shared Infrastructure Services strategy. * Provide assurance and advise that the solutions and technologies recommended will technically deliver and meet the needs of the business and our operational needs. * Research & Identify innovative technologies pertinent to the Target Architecture & involvement in any incubation and pilot of these technologies. * Responsible for prioritising and managing own workload. * Provide technical guidance and support to Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture team. Financial Responsibilities. * Supports business investment planning across Centrica Group, focusing on continuous improvement within the Hosting Platforms Architecture. * Recommend design options for the vendor choice selection for various solutions. Operational Responsibilities. * Delivers the infrastructure technology strategy in line with business requirements, organisation and industry standards. * Advises the Hosting Platforms team as well as the wider Architecture teams on new opportunities or changes to their markets through emerging technologies. * Contribute to the delivery of complex platform hosting solutions where required. * Effectively manage stakeholders. * Set and document appropriate development and technical standards and ensuring they are followed and communicated. Team Leadership and People Management. * Be part of a high performing team of talented people, provide advice, sharing knowledge and motivating both self and others. * Own, manage and coordinate own project demand workload, performance and quality through appropriate KPI's. * Be a leader of Hosting Platforms. Knowledge, Skills & Experience. Bachelor degree level or relevant equivalent professional experience. 10 years as a Infrastructure Architect including 3 years as a Lead Architect role in a large organisation. Previous Management and Team leadership experience, providing technical leadership across delivery technical resources, programme resources, third parties and the wider business organisation. Experience in a multi-unit organisation, advising and collaborating. Strategic Dimensions: long and mid--term (1-5 years), implementation. Financial Responsibility: responsible for infrastructure technology leadership on an annual change budget of £10m or more. Architecture Frameworks & SOA, (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman. Cloud Architecture.
