Our client a, progressive energy services company based in the South East are looking for a regional Head of Operations to join their team. Role and responsibilities include: Management of oil supply relationships including forecasting fuel requirements. Produce daily trading strategies in order to optimise gross margins in line with product price movements. Management of direct fleet team in order to achieve operational efficiency in line with the company’s customer first approach. Responsible for resource management to meet seasonal demands. Responsible for the recruitment, training and general management of drivers. Responsible for overseeing all operational locations ie retail locations, depots, stock holding locations. Manage fleet maintenance with the aim to minimize downtime and repairs. Reporting and analysis of company’s KPI’s and operational metrics. Regulation & compliance management. Health & Safety Management, including investigations and implementing preventative actions. Responsible for HSA/regulatory and compliance matters; Responsible for the preparation and overall management of  OPEX and CAPEX budgets. The idea candidate should have: Strong commercial awareness. Strong planning and organisational skills and capability of working in a focused, committed, diligent and professional manner. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact with key stakeholders in a positive, confident and professional manor. Ability to multi-task while performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment with good intuition to make crucial judgment calls; Ability to work in a customer focused environment with a problem solving attitude. Strong Leadership skills, with the ability to successfully motivate and coach direct reports. Technical Skills and Experience. A minimum of 5 years experience in a transport / logistics management role; Experience in planning and managing load schedules is essential. Familiarity with logistics software and IT packages; Knowledge of legislation and regulatory requirements for the transportation of hazardous good; Ability to read demand trends and provide appropriate action plans, and where necessary work around plans; Degree or qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant qualification is desirable.
