Our client, a well-known speciality retail company with operations in 15 countries and over 6000 retail stores worldwide, are seeking a General Ledger Accountant with German. You will be a member of the Shared Services Accounts Payable team. You will be a part of a very busy team and will report directly to the Tax and Compliance Manager. You will sit on a team looking after Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This is a permanent role. This will give the right candidate an opportunity to work in a very successful well-known business and gain valuable experience in a shared services environment. The Role. As the new German General Ledger Accountant, you will be a member the Shared Services General Ledger team. You will report directly to the Tax and Compliance Manager and your key responsibilities will include: Streamlining of processes and controls. Reviewing P&L and Balance Sheet for tax and payroll related accounts. Preparing of statutory accounts for German region. Approving of month end reconciliations and journals. Reviewing and approval of statistical returns. Controlling and assisting with tax planning and budgeting. Liaising with Specialists, Auditors and Regulatory Bodies. The Person. The ideal General Ledger Accountant will need to speak fluent German and have an understanding of German GAAP. You will need to be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA. You will have strong Excel skills and be an analytical problem solver. Navision experience. You will need to be a strong team player. The Benefits.
